In Like a Lion...Out Like a Lamb- Getting Cricky Blog Hop

Welcome to the "In Like a Lion...Out Like a Lamb" Getting Cricky Blog Hop!!

We're so happy you could join us for this month's Getting Cricky Design Team Blog Hop!!

If you've hopped along from MIRANDA then you are in the right place!! If you are just joining me from your dashboard, or reading this via email, please be sure to CLICK HERE to start at the beginning with Kristal's blog (you'll want to catch up on all the FUN!!)...

Each of Kristal's stamp sets benefit charity. At least $1 per stamp set goes to benefit the charity noted on the stamp set package. Kristal is donating to the following charities: Cancer Angels, Storefront Shelter for Homeless Children, Intrepid & Fallen Heroes, E. Glaser Pediatric AIDS  Foundation, Doorways Shelter for Women & Children (Domestic Violence), Wayside House for Women, Camp Good Days & Special Times, Adopt a Classroom, and Autism Research Institute. Kristal will donate $1 for every stamp set sold, retail or wholesale to the charity noted; and over time believes this will add up to some wonderful miracles for these special people. So you can feel good that each time you purchase a K Andrew Designs art stamp set, someone around the country is receiving some good help!

K Andrew's stamps are all made and assembled here in the USA, which is very important to Kristal. This ensures all product materials are safe and that jobs are being provided and maintained here in America.  You can learn even more about Kristal's stamps (and pick some up for yourself) by visiting her online store: K Andrew Designs:

Now for the main attraction.... my project!!!!

Now let me explain the meaning behind this project before I get into the details of what I did to make it. Spring is one of my favorite times of year! Isn't it everyones?!? When I found out the theme for this month's hop, I wasn't sure what I was going to make. While I love lions, I wasn't really motivated to create anything featuring a lion. So I thought, and thought, and thought some more... and while flipping through the Enjoy the Seasons cartridge for the Imagine I came across this image of the sheep. So then I thought some more about what I might be able to do using this image. So then I whipped out my K. Andrew Design Stamps to see if there was a sentiment that could go well with it. Low and behold I came up with the phrase "Hello...Lazy Days". So why this sentiment you ask. Well when I think about spring whether it's the beginning or the end, as summer approaches (which is my FAVORITE season by the way :)) I think about warm weather and simply relaxing and having no real cares in the world but to enjoy life. As I looked at the sheep in this image, I felt that they conveyed my message and feelings so well. To make the project even more fun and to make sure the image and seniments popped I popped the image up on a cloud which I cut from one of the preloaded images on the Imagine. Because we all know when we are having those lazy days our heads are in the clouds :) ! Last but not least I wanted to find a way to make this image useful so I continued to peruse my Enjoy the seasons booklet and found the bonus cut for the pillow box! How PERFECT to go with my theme of lazy days! I mean we are going to need something to rest our heads on as we stare into the clouds, right! Well I won't be resting my head on this particular pillow, but I do plan to stuff it with some items to help me get through those lazy days. Chocolate anyone! :)

Well there you have it. I know that was a lengthy explanation, but I just had to share my thought process behind this project! I hope you enjoyed it and that it inspires you to create something that reminds you of spring or your favorite season!

Don't forget to head HERE to get your very own sets of K. Andrew Design Stamps so that you can bring your projects to life too!

Now you can hop on over to your next stop: CHRISTEL ......

Getting Cricky Simply Sunday- Color Challenge

Good Afternoon Crafty Friends!

I hope that life is treating each and every one of you well. I've been very under the weather for the last 2 weeks, which has taken my energy to do anything,  and unfortunately it is something that I just have to let run its course, but I was able to get some pretty strong cough medicine to help with this nagging cough.

But you didn't stop by to hear about my ailments! LOL! You came by to see what crafty goodness I have to share with you for this week's Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge! This week's challenge is a color challenge. You must use the colors Green and White + 1 other color.

This was quite the challenge for me. I searched through all of my paper packs to see what fun green patterned papers I had. As I was searching a great idea came to mind for me. This week is the 1st of 2 weeks for the students in our state in grades 3-5 & 8th grade. They have to take a state mandated test that is a VERY BIG deal. I am fortunate enough to be able to work with several 4th and 5th graders through our after school mentoring group and each year I like to give them a small token to encourage them to do their best on the MSA. So that was my inspiration for the quick and easy cards that I put together to share with you.

Here they are:

The card on the left is a 3x3 card and the one on the right is a 4x4 card. The horseshoe used on both cards was cut from the Create a Critter cartridge. The sentiments are from the following K. Andrew Design stamp sets: Splashtastic Summer & Fall-O-Ween

I used the horseshoe to symbolize Good Luck and I want the kids to know that this is thier chance to shine and show the state just how smart they are!

I hope you have enjoyed what you have seen today! Be sure to join in on the fun by submitting your project HERE! Remember this is a color challenge so you must use Green and White + 1 other color.

Well that's all for now!

Until Next Time...

Happy Wednesday Crafty Friends!!! I hope that everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day!!! I enjoyed some quality time with my boyfriend and that always puts a smile on my face :). I loved my goodies from cupid, but I have to say the most shocking gift that I received was a homemade strawberry cheesecake from one of my students. Happy Boo-Day!!!

Hello Again Crafty Friends!!!

Happy Halloween to Everyone! Hope that you have had a fun-filled day!

At my school we have a Character Stroll to celebrate Halloween. Students. teachers, and even some parents, can dress up as thier favorite book character. We meet outside on our track and all grade levels "stroll" to show off their awesome costumes! It is a lot of fun and my kids definitely loved every minute of it. This year I went as a butterfly as that seems to be a thought/image that brings me happy thoughts.

Along with our character stroll today, I had the chance to wish my co-worker & teammate a happy birthday! That's right she is a Halloween Baby (well not really a baby, but you know what I mean). In honor of her birthday I made this card. I LOVE how cute it is! I'll let you see for yourself. I am also entering this card into Getting Cricky's Simply Sunday Challenge - Orange & Black + 1 other color

The cute little ghost was cut from the Simply Charmed cartridge. The paper and ribbon were all from Michaels.Stamps are from the following sets by K-Andrew Designs: Fall-o-ween, Coffee & Tea for You & Me, Splash-tastic Summer

I also used the K Andrew Designs Sets for the inside of my card. Fall-o-ween, Splash-tastic Summer

I hope you have enjoyed what you have seen today! I really had a lot of fun making this card and my teammate loved it! Thanks for stopping by!

Freedom Isn't Free

Happy Saturday Everyone! I hope that your weekend is off to a fabulous start! I haven't had tons of time to craft lately because I am preparing to move into my new house, which is finally finished!!! I am beyond excited and I can't wait to start the next chapter of my life in my new home! I will be moving towards the end of next week, so I hope to make a quick move so that I can begin crafting in my new, larger crafting space!!!

With all of my excitement about the house, I did need to take some time to do things to take my mind over the stress of having to get everything packed up and ready to go. This week over at Getting Cricky with K. Andrew, Kristal is having a  Simply Sunday challenge to make cards for the troops! Did I mention that she has AMAZING stamps that are manufactured here in the good ol' USA!!! Not only that but Kristal donates $1 from every stamp set sold to charitable causes! How fabulous is that! I highly recommend that you go over to K.Andrew Design's store and check out her stamps. I promise you won't be disappointed. Now on to my card

The tanker was cut from Boys will Be Boys and the star pin/medal was cut from Rock Princess

The sentiment is from K.Andrew Designs- Positive Thoughts
Support Our Troops embellishment and yellow ribbons from K & Company

Shine On sentiment is from K.Andrew Designs- Splashtastic Summer

Patterned paper is from K & Company. All other paper is from my craps.

I really like how this card is simple, but at the same time says so much! I hope you enjoy! I am also entering this card in the Cricut 360- Challenge #5 Transportation
Thanks for stopping by and I love reading all of your comments!

Until Next Time...

Sunny Thoughts for You!

I am really enjoying all the time that I have had to craft this week! It has really been a great way for me to clear my mind of all thoughts!  I was so happy this afternoon when I went to my mailbox because my order from K. Andrews from Getting Cricky was in there!!!!! YAY!!! I just love her blog and I’ve wanted to get her stamps since they first came out. I finally was able to get my hands on a couple of sets and hopefully the others in the future.
Since I just HAD to make SOMETHING with the stamps today, I decided to make a card that I will be entering into 3 challenges.
Wacky Wednesday #44- Fun in the Sun
Cooking with Cricut: Challenge #42- Pen or Marker Work or Sun ( I went with the sun because I don’t have pens or markers for my Cricut yet)
I just LOVE working with bright colors! They tend to brighten up my thoughts as well

Sentiment is from K.Andrews Designs Splash-tastic Summer set.

Sun is cut from Create a Critter. I stamped that cute little face on the sun from PKS- Wide Eye Kids set. Flower is from DCWV Animal Crackers sticker embellishments

Background layer is embossed with Cuttlebug- Tiny Bubbles folder

So glad that you stopped by yet again to see my creations! I love reading your comments. They continue to inspire and motivate me to craft!

Until Next Time….
