Now for the main attraction.... my project!!!!

Now let me explain the meaning behind this project before I get into the details of what I did to make it. Spring is one of my favorite times of year! Isn't it everyones?!? When I found out the theme for this month's hop, I wasn't sure what I was going to make. While I love lions, I wasn't really motivated to create anything featuring a lion. So I thought, and thought, and thought some more... and while flipping through the Enjoy the Seasons cartridge for the Imagine I came across this image of the sheep. So then I thought some more about what I might be able to do using this image. So then I whipped out my K. Andrew Design Stamps to see if there was a sentiment that could go well with it. Low and behold I came up with the phrase "Hello...Lazy Days". So why this sentiment you ask. Well when I think about spring whether it's the beginning or the end, as summer approaches (which is my FAVORITE season by the way :)) I think about warm weather and simply relaxing and having no real cares in the world but to enjoy life. As I looked at the sheep in this image, I felt that they conveyed my message and feelings so well. To make the project even more fun and to make sure the image and seniments popped I popped the image up on a cloud which I cut from one of the preloaded images on the Imagine. Because we all know when we are having those lazy days our heads are in the clouds :) ! Last but not least I wanted to find a way to make this image useful so I continued to peruse my Enjoy the seasons booklet and found the bonus cut for the pillow box! How PERFECT to go with my theme of lazy days! I mean we are going to need something to rest our heads on as we stare into the clouds, right! Well I won't be resting my head on this particular pillow, but I do plan to stuff it with some items to help me get through those lazy days. Chocolate anyone! :)

Well there you have it. I know that was a lengthy explanation, but I just had to share my thought process behind this project! I hope you enjoyed it and that it inspires you to create something that reminds you of spring or your favorite season!

Getting Cricky Simply Sunday- Color Challenge

Good Afternoon Crafty Friends!

I hope that life is treating each and every one of you well. I've been very under the weather for the last 2 weeks, which has taken my energy to do anything,  and unfortunately it is something that I just have to let run its course, but I was able to get some pretty strong cough medicine to help with this nagging cough.

But you didn't stop by to hear about my ailments! LOL! You came by to see what crafty goodness I have to share with you for this week's Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge! This week's challenge is a color challenge. You must use the colors Green and White + 1 other color.

This was quite the challenge for me. I searched through all of my paper packs to see what fun green patterned papers I had. As I was searching a great idea came to mind for me. This week is the 1st of 2 weeks for the students in our state in grades 3-5 & 8th grade. They have to take a state mandated test that is a VERY BIG deal. I am fortunate enough to be able to work with several 4th and 5th graders through our after school mentoring group and each year I like to give them a small token to encourage them to do their best on the MSA. So that was my inspiration for the quick and easy cards that I put together to share with you.

Here they are:

The card on the left is a 3x3 card and the one on the right is a 4x4 card. The horseshoe used on both cards was cut from the Create a Critter cartridge. The sentiments are from the following K. Andrew Design stamp sets: Splashtastic Summer & Fall-O-Ween

I used the horseshoe to symbolize Good Luck and I want the kids to know that this is thier chance to shine and show the state just how smart they are!

I hope you have enjoyed what you have seen today! Be sure to join in on the fun by submitting your project HERE! Remember this is a color challenge so you must use Green and White + 1 other color.

Well that's all for now!

Until Next Time...
