More End of the School Year Goodies

Every year at the end of the year as a token of my appreciation for all of thier time and energy, I like to give my parent volunteers and room mothers a small gift. My wonderful friend and co-worker Wendy over at Cricut your Classroom, gave me a fabulous, inexpensive (because we ALL know teachers do not get the pay that we deserve, but that's a whole other story. I should also add that I did not become a teacher for the pay ( I don't think any of us do), but for the rewards and feelings that I receive from making a difference in a child's life) gift idea for my volunteers. I was very happy with how everything turned out and it was great to have my students very involved and take a part in creating the gift.

The first part of their gift was a glass jar. Inside each of the jars, was a slip of paper from each child, telling the parent thank you for all that they did this school year. We did a different color for each parent. The students also signed each jar using paint pens, so that the parents would have an extra way of remembering them!

This is one of the GIANT Hershey bars that I covered for one of my volunteers who came in every week to help with my math enrichment group.
Stamped sentiments are from Peachy Keen Stamps Teacher Says and My Creative Time's My Favorite Sayings Set.

This one was for my other parent, who I also call Mama! She came in twice a week to help with computer lab time and to read with students.

I made 4 of the smaller Hershey Bars, that look like this for my teammates in 1st grade! I love how cute they turned out. For my other two parent volunteers I wrapped bars like this in a very bright/summery patterned paper (I forgot to take a picture of the bar before I gave it to them...oops). They also looked really pretty!

In addition to these items, I gave my volunteers one of the thank you cards, that I made for my Blast Off to Summer Blog hop, back in May, with a special Thank You note to each one of them. I know that it wasn't a lot, but it was something that was thoughtful and from the heart of not only myself but the students as well.

That's everything that I was busy making during the last week of school. I hope that you have enjoyed seeing everything! I plan on getting some crafting done this weekend and to hopefully start in the next week or so making things for my classroom. I'm not sure how much I will get done, since I will soon be packing and moving into my new house, which is almost done! I'm sooooo excited!

Well Until Next Time...

The End of the Year was all a whurr....

I don't know if any other teachers were feeling like I felt at the end of the year, but I definitely felt that the end of this school year, was A LOT more hectic and chaotic than my first two years. I think part of the chaos for me was that I found out less than a week before school let out, that I was going to be moving to a new room. So for me that added another level of stress. So of course I had to turn to crafting to try to ease some of my worries.

This year there were a few of my co-workers who are going to be a mommy for either the first time or the 2nd time and so for a week straight we had baby shower after baby shower, one of which I co-hosted for my awesome teammate! Nonetheless this called for some card making! I enjoyed making these cards, because it was the first time that I've really made baby shower cards and I was able to make each one different and special.

First up is the card I made for my teammate. She is having a baby girl right around the time we head back to school so we wanted to have her shower before then, just in case she made her arrival before then!

I just love the baby blocks from New Arrival. The rattle and toy are from Baby Steps.

All of the stamps used  on the inside are from My Pink Stamper's Sweet Baby set

Next up is the card I made for the teacher who was right next door to me. She actually gave birth to a healthy baby boy this past weekend! She is such a sweet person and I had a lot of fun making her card as well.

Rattle is cut from Baby Steps

Sentiments and footprints are from Sweet Baby by My Pink Stamper

This is the envelope for the card. These cute little jungle friends are from a set I picked up at Michaels

And last but not least is a card I made for my co-worker who does not yet know what she is having, but she did mention that she was doing a duck theme, so I took that idea and ran with it!

I used Baby Steps for the adorable duck pin and the sentiment is from Sweet Baby. I also added some stickles to his wing and beak!

I used My Creative Time's Just a Note to Say set to stamp the larger sentiment.

So there you have it! All of the baby cards I was making in those last few days of the school year. Come back by a little later today to see the gifts that I made for my parent volunteers and my teammates! They were all super sweet goodies! Thanks for stopping by and as always I LOVE to read your comments! They fuel my desire and motivation to create!

Until Next Time...

All Jacked Up Blog Hop

Welcome to the ‘All Jacked Up in June’ Blog Hop. You should have started your ‘jacked up’ journey at http://www.shortnscrappy.com/. If you have arrived from http://www.glitterstampsandpaperohmy.com/ , then you are not on some ‘jacked up’ blog trip, you are actually on the right track!

Our themed projects for this hop could be altered ‘jacked up’ items, projects made from ‘jacked up’ scraps, or anything cocktail related.

I chose to share two projects with you. One project is one that I will be using in my classroom and the other is a birthday card that I made for my Dad!

For my first project I took an empty Lysol wipes container and did my best to modify it to look like an Elmer's Glue Stick. Right now this project is still pretty plain so I would love some feedback on what I could add to it to make it a little more appealing for first graders to want to use. I think they are going to want to put thier empty glue sticks, which our school can earn some money for, in the container regardless but I'd love to make it just a little more appealing! :)

The glue bottle is cut from Locker Talk and I hand wrote the words

I didn't think that my stop on this hop would be complete without making SOMETHING related to the cocktail aspect of the "jacked up" interpretation. Unlike me, my dad enjoys a nice cold beer every once in a while so I thought that this card would be PERFECT for him. I used the Smiley Cards cartridge and my gypsy to make this shaped card! To get the dripping beer effect on the card I used one of my cuttlebug border folders. I think it turned out great!

A blog hop is not complete without having some candy available. Although I do not have a picture of what I am offering up, one lucky commenter will receive some surprise blog candy from me for leaving myself and all of the other stops some love!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!! Your next stop is http://www.katieoscreations.blogspot.com/. If you get ‘jacked up’ and lose your way, please visit http://www.shortnscrappy.com/ for the complete lineup.

Until next time...

Hall Passes and More

As most of you already know I'm a 1st grade teacher and that was my whole reason for investing in a Cricut almost 2 years ago. Each year at our school we have a certain theme and this year's theme is Together We Can Reach for the Stars. We are able to interpret the slogan anyway that we would like and since I wanted to have a Hollywood/Movie Star theme in my room, this is why when I refer to the stars, I am referrig to the fact that my students are the "Stars", i.e. movie stars! I just love it and so do my kids, we have movie themed stuff all over our classroom. I say all of this to say that, each year I also make my hall passes that the students take with them when they head out to the restroom. This year I made some pretty awesome passes out of cereal boxes and paper and I laminated them, but over the months they started to fall apart. So since I was on spring break last week, I finally had the opportunity to sit down and make new passes.

These were the original passes

These are the new hall passes which I LOVE!!! My kids were so excited about them!

I bought wooden doorhangers from Michaels a while ago and then I just used some Mod Podge to cover them in some fun papers that I had.

They look really awesome in person and most importantly my kids thought that they looked great!!

I also made this cute card for a former student who LOVES Hello Kitty

Sentiment is from Emma's Just a Note to Say set

This was a tough kitty to assemble at times, but she turned out very cute

This inside sentiment is also from Emma's Just a Note to Say

Thanks for stopping by today. I would love to hear what you think of my projects! I really appreciate everyones comments, and I do read them ALL! Thanks for helping to drive my love for this craft/hobby!

Until next time...

With this ring...

Good morning my crafty friends!!

A good friend of mine, whom I have known since middle school, just got married this past weekend! She was absolutely stunning and I was so honored to be able to celebrate her special day with her. We threw her a bridal shower at work and this is the card that I made for her. I just LOVE how it turned out! :)

All that bling was too much for the camera to handle! LOL

Here is a better view. I love the rose paper that I used for this card. Rings were cut from the Sweethearts Cartridge. Simply elegant!

Sentiment is from My Pink Stamper

The inside sentiment is also from My Pink Stamper

One of Emma's bonus stamps! I just love it! :)

As always, thanks so much for taking a moment out of your day to stop by. I value and appreciate the friendshsips that I have made with each and EVERY one of you!

I'm headed off to finish de-cluttering my office so I can get some crafting done!

Until next time...

Birthdays and Anniversaries

Hello Again My Amazingly Crafty Friends!!!

I was finally able to have the opportunity to create something and let me just say it was time well deserved and spent! :)

Yesterday marked 6 years since my mister and I started dating and it was also one of my best friends 25th birthday, so I definitely had a reason to make a card or 2!!!

This first card was my creation for my mister! I really loved this rose paper that I had left over from a K & Company stack that I bought around Valentine's Day. I think it added the perfect love touch to the card.

I think that this turned out simply PERFECT!

This was stamped with a stamp that I picked up from Michaels

This was one of Emma's bonus stamps that were sent out with her latest release

This next card was created especially for my best friend! As always I was very happy with how it turned out.

Isn't this cupcake just sooo cute!!! I finally had the chance to use my new PKS Happy Lashes set and Straight from the Nest cartridge for the cupcake

This is one of Robyn's latest stamps

This was the outside of her envelope

Another one of Emma's bonus stamps

Well that is all I have for today. I have 2 more cards that I will be making tomorrow night and then hopefully I will be able to start working on a special gift for my nephew who will be joining us in the world very soon!

Oh before I forget, I have surpassed the 100 followers mark so I will be having a giveaway in the coming days. Stay tuned to see what I may be giving away!

Have a wonderful week!
