Happy Boo-Day!!!

Hello Again Crafty Friends!!!

Happy Halloween to Everyone! Hope that you have had a fun-filled day!

At my school we have a Character Stroll to celebrate Halloween. Students. teachers, and even some parents, can dress up as thier favorite book character. We meet outside on our track and all grade levels "stroll" to show off their awesome costumes! It is a lot of fun and my kids definitely loved every minute of it. This year I went as a butterfly as that seems to be a thought/image that brings me happy thoughts.

Along with our character stroll today, I had the chance to wish my co-worker & teammate a happy birthday! That's right she is a Halloween Baby (well not really a baby, but you know what I mean). In honor of her birthday I made this card. I LOVE how cute it is! I'll let you see for yourself. I am also entering this card into Getting Cricky's Simply Sunday Challenge - Orange & Black + 1 other color

The cute little ghost was cut from the Simply Charmed cartridge. The paper and ribbon were all from Michaels.Stamps are from the following sets by K-Andrew Designs: Fall-o-ween, Coffee & Tea for You & Me, Splash-tastic Summer

I also used the K Andrew Designs Sets for the inside of my card. Fall-o-ween, Splash-tastic Summer

I hope you have enjoyed what you have seen today! I really had a lot of fun making this card and my teammate loved it! Thanks for stopping by!

Until Next Time...

Just Stopping In To Say..Hello!

Hi Friends,

I had a few extra minutes today and just wanted to stop in to say hello. I've been noticing that a lot of the crafters that I follow and even people I know who don't craft, have been experiencing a bit of a "funk" or lack of motivation/inspiration. I'm no different from them and was finally able to come to the realization that I've been dealing with a bit of depression :(. It makes me sad to admit it, but it has been so helpful for me this week to talk about so many of the things that have been having me down. While I'm still having moments of feeling blue. I am findng that while at work around my students and co-workers, I have very little time to think about the saddening things and I am able to be myself, somewhat.

It has been a huge relief to simply be able to almost self-diagnose what I've been feeling for the past few months or so. While I've been crafting things here and there, it hasn't exactly been to the level and consistency that I had grown used to. My goal in the next few weeks, is to get back to doing and ENJOYING the things that were making me happy and keeping my spirits high.

Thanks for allowing me to share a little bit of myself with you today. I know I didn't share a project. But just simply sitting here and writing this, has taken me one step in the right direction.

Birthday Wishes for a Very Special Lady

Greetings Crafty Friends,

I'm back again to share yet another creation. As many know I am very much into making cards and I'm finding that lately my inspiration has been to make some Cricut-less cards. This card is one of those and it was also my 2nd time trying a gate-fold style! I LOVED making this card. I thought it was so very easy to put together and absolutely fun to make! Did I mention that I made it for my wonderful and amazing grandmother. She is my role model and someone that I absolutely admire. She does so much for everyone in our family and never gets the attention that she deserves. So in honor of her and her birthday, I cooked her dinner brought it to her house and served her, which I'm so surprised that she actually allowed me to do! :) It was a fun night and something that not only she needed but I needed to spend the time with her and my grandfather as well. It is a memory that I will NEVER forget!

Now on to the simple yet elegant card that I made for her!

Her favorite color is purple so I had to be sure that I implemented it into the card somehow. I think I did a good job of that! LOL

The stamps were mixed and matched from two of the K. Andrews Design sets, Winter Wishes & Coffee and Tea for You and Me

The inside sentiment is by My Pink Stamper

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have enjoyed what you have seen today! Stop back again soon to see what I've been up to!

Sugar & Spice

Hello Again Crafty Friends!!!

One of my teammates recently had her 1st baby girl and I wanted to try to give her the perfect gift! Not too long ago I purchased the Word Collage project cartridge and found the perfect phrase to make a room decoration for little Miss Raegan!

Sorry for the slight glare! I think It's because of the bling that I added! Little girls love that you know :)

Here is a better picture of the finished collage! I absolutely LOVE it and it went perfect with her nursery!

Another close up

And one more close up.

Rather than using vinyl, I made the entire thing out of paper and used transfer tape to get everything in the right place on the base sheet. Once everything was assembled and layed out, I then put it into a white metal scrapbook frame, which I forgot to take a picture of, and it looked absolutely adorable!

Well Thanks for stopping by! Check back again soon to see some of the other creations I have been working on!

Until next Time...

I Think I'm Back

Hello There Crafty World!!!

I know that I have been MIA for well over a month! I can't believe it. I've missed not being able to craft but I think I'm getting into the groove of having a new home and a new school year, and I think  I'm finally going to be able to start crafting again.

During my absence, I did have a chance to craft a few things here and there, so I thought I would take this time share them with you all!

This is a card I made for my younger brother.

This was made for my other younger brother

This is one of the cards I made to welcome back my 1st grade teammates to the New School Year!

These are the Welcome Back bags that I made for my students! I have 24 lovely students and I had fun making these bags!

Close up of the patriotic apples on each of the bags. Our theme this year is United We Stand...United We Learn

Thank you cards that I made for a few students/families who gave me birthday and back to school gifts

I love how these turned out!

As I said earlier in my post, things have been pretty crazy. I moved into my new house in the beginning of August and then had to head back to work to prep for the school year. During our Open House we experienced an earthquake, followed by a hurricane that weekend, which closed school for 3 days and then on top of all that there were tornado warnings, and endless amounts of clean up from the hurricane. Luckily, during the hurricane I, personally did not lose power, but several of my family members and students were without power for days.

So with that crazy start to the school year, so many of us have felt like we haven't been able to get our feet on the ground and help our students to adjust. Hopefully this next month will be filled with normalcy for me not only at work, but at home as well. I have been in a bit of funk lately and just have not wanted to do much of anything. It has been tough to deal with, because I know that there are SO many things that I needed to get done to continue to settle into my new house, but I just haven't wanted to do anything. This weekend, was the first weekend where I've really felt like my old self, and feeling like things are looking brighter for me. I hope that this also means, I will be feeling rather crafty too! :)

Sorry that this post is so long, I just wanted to share what has been going on in my life and why I've been M.I.A.

Until Next Time...
