Simply Sunday Snow & Embossing Challenge & Day 1 of the Getting Cricky Pre-Hop Week

Greetings Crafty Friends!!!

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful weekend! I've found some time to relax and just enjoy some "ME" time!!! We all need some of that every so often!

I want to welcome you to this week's Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge! This week's challenge theme is Let it Snow- Use embossing! I had so much fun creating my project for this challenge and I couldn't wait to share it with everyone. So without further adieu I present to you my project!

I can't begin to tell you how much FUN I had making this card! Now for the details!

These adorable penguins are cut from the Simply Charmed cartridge. The snowflake is from the Christmas Solutions cartridge. All paper is from my pile of scraps! And where is that awesome sentiment from you ask! Well it is from 2 sets from the One and Only K. Andrew Designs line of stamps! I used the Winter Wishes set and Crafty Friends! This was the absolute perfect sentiment for what I had envisioned in my head!

Not only are we having our Simply Sunday Challenge, but this Friday is our Monthly Getting Cricky Blog Hop, which I know that you are going to LOVE! To get everyone excited and pumped about the hop several of my wonderful Design Team Sisters and I have selected on of Kristal's sets to feature for the entier week by sharing different projects each day. We want to show you just how versatile and wonderful each set really is!

The set that I am featuring ALL week is Winged Things!!!

You can head over to the K. Andrew Designs store to grab your very own set!! I promise you it will be so hard to pick just one, so you are just going to have to get them ALL! :)

The butterfly was cut from the Once Upon  a Princess cartridge. And my sentiment of course was from the Winged Things set!

I love this sentiment not only because of my LOVE for butterflies but because of the inner message that this sentiment conveys. It absolutely perfect!

Well thanks for stopping by! Be sure to stop back by each day this week to see more of the projects that I have made using K. Andrew Designs- Winged Things set!

Getting Cricky Blog Hop

And of course don't forget to join us on Friday, January 20th for our monthly Blog Hop!!! You definitely don't want to miss it!

Until Next Time...

It's been a LONG time...

Oh me oh my...it has been a VERY LONG time since I've had  the chance to post anything. Things have gotten so busy for me lately that I barely have time to sit down and take a breath. Although I haven't had a chance to share some of my creations when I made, I have made a few things in the past couple of weeks.

This year I was able to fulfill one of my goals of becoming a mentor teacher to an aspiring teacher. I have to say this was a very rewarding and reflective opportunity for me, especially since I'm only in my 3rd year of teaching and to know that my principal thought that I was a good candidate to offer this wonderful experience to a student teacher from Towson University.

My student teacher was amazing and I definitely learned a lot from her and I hope that she took a lot of positive and helpful things away from her experience with me. Her last day with my 1st graders and I was on March 4th and what better way to show our appreciation for her than to have a celebration of thanks. I wanted to make sure that she had things that she would be able to use when she gets her own classroom so we collected items for a gift basket and I made her a set of 10 Thank You cards to have on hand. I also made a special card and banner to let her know that we would miss her and just how much she meant to us.

I was so happy with how these cards turned out and they were very simple to put together.

Is this not the cutest card?!?

It was missing something so I decided to finally open up my I-rock and put it to use. I was so happy with the end result

The gift basket filled with goodies

My very first banner. I would have liked to have done a little more with it, but I kind of waited to the last minute to get it done. I was very pleased with how simple yet cute it was

Cute tote with all of the kids handprints and signatures

Thanks for stopping by. I love and appreciate all of your comments. Things are beginning to slow down for me so hopefully I will be able to start crafting much more.

Until next time....

Fun In the Sun!

Is anyone else ready for spring and summer to get here?!? I was so glad to be able to make another summer themed card this week but this time it was for a co-worker who has a love for the beach and warm weather. I love using brigt colors and this definitely gave me a chance to do so! I am also going to be entering this card into the Cooking with Cricut and Fantabulous Cricut Challenges- Emboss It. Hope you like it! :)

I just love this card! It turned out PERFECT!!!
I used my D'Vine Swirls folder for the water and I used Spots & Dots for the white layer

Thanks so much for stopping by! I will have some more projects to share as I have some more birthdays coming up in  my family in the next couple of weeks!

Take Care and Always remember to SMILE!

So Many Wishes

Well hello there everyone!!! Seems like forever since I've had the chance to share with you! Things have been really busy for me the past couple of weeks but I finally had an opportunity to sit down and make some things this week.

But before I share my creations with you, I just wanted to share that Vicky over at Victoria Scraps has some awesome blog candy since she has reached 100 followers! I can't wait until the day I can say that I have reached that milestone! Be sure to check out her blog and become a follower! She is a very talented lady and I love to see all of her creations, I know you will too!

Now on to my newest creations!

This first card was made for my grandfather who celebrated his birthday yesterday! I love my Pop-Pop and I'm so happy that I was able to make a card for him (although it will get to him a little late). I just love the way this turned out!

Truck is from Everyday Paper Dolls
Cake is from Simply Charmed
Stamps used: PKS Everyday Characters & MPS Everyday Life
Yellow Stickles

This next card was made for one of my former students who has been feeling a bit under the weather lately, and I thought I would make this for her to cheer her up and lift up her spirits. She is such a sweet young lady and I was so blessed to have been able to share her 1st grade year with not only her, but all of my students. I can't wait to see what she thought of her special card! I just love this cute little sun!

Sun is from Create a Critter
Punch used is by EK Success
Sentiment is from MPS Everyday Life
Flower paper is from DCWV  Glitter Mat Stack

My last item, was actually supposed to be a card for someone, but I was not happy with the way it turned out, so I just made it into something that I may attach to a gift or something in the future. I don't now yet.

Present is from Simply Charmed
Martha Stewart Glitter
Brad is from Recollections

Well that's all I have to share for today! I have lots of valentine's stuff to make this weekend, since of course I waited until the last minute, but that's me! I also have some new cartridges that have just arrived that I can't wait to play with (Storybook, Forever Young, Nifty Fifties, and Mother's Day Bouquet)!!

Have a wonderful rest of the week and be sure to smile! You never know whose day you may brighten just from a simple gesture of a smile!

xx Hugs  xx
