High Flying Birthday!

If you are here for the Blast Off Into Summer Blog Hop please go  HERE!

Today is my cousin’s birthday and I decided to make her this very special card! From as long as I can remember she has been a fan of Pooh and so I thought that this card would be quite fitting to help her celebrate her birthday! J

The Happy Birthday sentiment is from My Pink Stamper's- Sweet Baby set
Other sentiment is from Hampton Art- Luau set
40- is from My Creative Time's Follow Your Dreams set
Balloon faces are from Peachy Keen Stamps- Everyday Characters

All images were cut from the Pooh & Friends Cartridge
I also embossed the background layer with the Traffic Jam folder for the Cuttlebug

I am also entering this card into two challenges:

Cooking with Cricut #30- Create a project with a balloon
Birthday Sundaes- Challenge #9- Use three circles

I hope that you like what you see! Be sure to come back to visit again real soon! Did I mention that I LOVE comments! They fuel my passion for crafting J!

Have a super sweet day!

Blast Off Into Summer Blog Hop

Welcome to the Blast Off Into Summer Blog Hop hosted by myself and my amazingly awesome crafting pal & co-worker, Wendy!!!

I’m so happy that you could join in the fun and hope that you have been truly inspired by all that you have seen today. I am the last stop on this awesome hop, and you should have arrived here from Jamie’s blog, but if you just happened to stumble across my blog for a quick visit, we would love it if you started from the beginning at Wendy’s blog so that you don’t miss any of the fun!

With many schools coming to the end of their academic year, we thought it was only fitting that for this hop participants create a project that expressed to students, teacher, and/or parent volunteers that they have done a great job this year.

I’ve created two projects to share, one for my students and one for my parent volunteers. I am so proud of how hard my students have worked this year, so I thought that it would be appropriate for me to create a (larger than normal J) bookmark that they can look at all throughout the summer when they are reading.

Tag was cut from Plantin Schoolbook and the stars are from the Baby Steps cartridge

The #1 and sentiment stamped on the red star is from the Follow Your Dreams set by Emma. I teach first grade and I think that my students are #1, so it has a double meaning!

I just LOVE this sentiment. It is from the My Favorite Sayings set by Emma

I think this is super cute! The stars are also symbolic of the theme in my classroom this year, Hollywood. So my kids are "movie stars"!

I stamped these sentiments on the back so that I could then add a short personalized message for each student. I used the Just a Note set and My Favorite Sayings set, both by Emma

I also created these simple, yet cute thank you cards for my parent volunteers. They are the perfect size for placing a gift card in as a small token of appreciation. I truly value my parent volunteers who give of themselves all the time to ensure that the students are receiving an outstanding education. Without their assistance and time, I would not be able to experience as much success as I do with my students.

Sentiment for the outside of the card is from Hampton Art- We make a great Pair
Sentiment for the inside of the card is from Emma's My Favorite Sayings set
Flower pots were cut from the April Showers Solution Cartridge

What would a blog hop be without some encouraging blog candy?!? I mean teachers do love goodies, right! J

We are so fortunate to have had the wonderful and amazingly talented Emma of My Creative Time, as a sponsor for some of the candy at this stop! And I think this is the perfect stamp set! One of you is going to be so super happy to receive this J

I am also offering some additional blog candy!

I think the embellishments and stickers are so cute and would go perfect with any school related project. I am also throwing in a Season’s Scrapbooking kit! J

In order to be eligible for this fun blog candy I would love if you did the following:

* Become a follower of my blog (you don't have to, but I would LOVE it if you did J)
* Leave a comment on this post telling me about a memorable end of the school year experience or event

That's it! Easy right?!? Two random winners will be selected on Tuesday and the winners will be announced on Wednesday!

Here is the lineup in case you get lost
Thanks so much for hopping along with us! Wendy and I are so grateful that you took time out of your day to visit each of the blogs on this hop! We hope that we have inspired you to prepare to Blast Off to Summer! J

Until Next Time…

Congrats Grad

Last weekend I had the pleasure of watching my Best Friend, walk across the stage at American University having earned her Master's degree!!! I was soooo proud of her! She worked very hard, spending practically every Saturday in class, so that she could achieve her goal...and it ALL paid off! I wish her nothing but success and happiness in all that she has in store for her in her future! She is an amazing person and I'm so lucky to be able to say that she is my Best Friend!

In celebration of her achievement and big day I made the following goodies for her
Isn't this card just the cutest...

I used Everyday Paper Dolls to cut the graduate and Wedding to cut the banner. The stamps are from Emma's set called Follow Your Dreams
The sentiments are from the same Follow Your Dreams set

I love this sentiment!

I knew that she would need some Thank You cards, so I made her a set of 8 cards.

Sentiment & Diploma is from Follow Your Dreams set, the cap is from the new Happy Graduation solutions cartridge

Set all bundled

I attempted to mod podge again. I used one of the wooden frames from Michaels and covered it in this paper.

The banner is from the Happy Graduation cartridge My ribbon on the right hand side, ended up a little crooked...oh well, we aren't all perfect

Last but not least, I needed something to put all this stuff in, so I used a kraft bag that I had lying around and added the paper layer and then the banner.

Banner is cut from Happy Graduation

All stuffed!

Thanks for stopping by today. I have many things that I am going to be working on this week including my project for the Blast Off Into Summer Blog Hop that Wendy and I are hosting next weekend! You aren’t going to want to miss it! By the way, don't forget to submit your projects for my April Showers giveaway. You have until Monday night to enter! J

Until next time…

Mother's Day Treats, Challenges, & Blog Hops...Oh My!

Greetings Crafty Friends!!
I hope that all mother’s had a great day yesterday! I spent the day with the wonderful ladies in my family who I am fortunate enough to be able to also think of as my mothers. Without their love and support I don’t think I would have matured into the young lady that I have become and for that I am forever grateful for them! J
I wanted to share what I gave to each of the mother’s in my family. Since I couldn’t afford to buy them each a dozen roses, I did the next best thing and made them candy rose lollipops! J I got into making lollipops around this time last year and I make them sporadically throughout the year. I also made a quick card, which was Cricut-less! The front of the card contains a poem, that I found somewhere online, I can’t remember where and the inside is stamped with two of Emma’s stamps, from two different sets. Because of the time that I had to create these, I wanted to keep them simple but pretty! J Let me know what you think!

Also, I wanted to let you all know that I have extended my small challenge to win the April Showers cartridge. The new deadline to submit your entries is Monday, May 16th. I realized that one week may not have been enough time, since there was so much going on last week with National Scrapbooking Day occurring during the weekend!
One more thing...lol...be sure to mark your calendars for May 21-22. My friend Wendy and I are hosting the Blast Off Into Summer Blog Hop and it is going to be a great time with some wonderful blog candy! You won't want to miss it!
Lastly, I will be participating in the All Jacked Up Blog Hop, June 4-5th,  hosted by the wonderful Patti over at Short 'N Scrappy . I am excited about participating in this hop as well!
Okay...that's really all this time. Be sure to check back throughout the week, for some projects that I've been working on!

Thanks so much for being such wonderful followers! You all ROCK!
J
